BMVP UNITED ISSUES
The Black Men Voting Power (BMVPU) initiative aims to address critical issues affecting Black men in the United States by advocating for equitable access and opportunities in several key areas:
- Small Business Lending Opportunities (SBA Access): BMVPU will push for increased access to Small Business Administration (SBA) loans and grants for Black men entrepreneurs. This includes advocating for policies that reduce barriers to entry, streamline application processes, and promote mentorship programs to help navigate the complexities of small business funding.
- Government Contracting Prime and Subs Equity and Inclusion: BMVPU will seek to enhance equity in government contracting by ensuring that Black-owned businesses have fair opportunities to compete for prime and subcontracting roles. This involves advocating for transparency in the bidding process, establishing quotas or set-asides for minority-owned businesses, and providing resources for capacity building.
- Import and Export Opportunities with Foreign Countries: To foster economic growth, BMVPU will advocate for policies that expand international trade opportunities for Black-owned businesses. This includes promoting trade education, access to foreign markets, and partnerships that facilitate export growth.
- Licensing and Certification Reform for Certain Felons: Recognizing the barriers faced by formerly incarcerated individuals, BMVPU will work toward reforming licensing and certification processes that disproportionately impact this group. This involves advocating for fair policies that allow individuals with felony records to pursue careers in various industries without excessive restrictions.
- Political Office Representation: The Black Men Voting Power (BMVP) initiatives focuses on addressing crucial issues impacting Black men in the United States by advocating for greater representation in political offices at local, state, and national levels.
